Work for construction of a township in Dhanbad's Jharia area, where people are affected by underground fire, will begin soon, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said.
Forty thousand residential units would be constructed in the township, he said adding water treatment plants, sewerage treatment plant, park, school, anganwadi centre, community hall, pipe water facility and electricity sub-station would be constructed in the G+4 apartments.
Pipe water facility and electricity sub-station would also be constructed so that the people would not have to wait for these amenities, the chief minister said during his talks with L & T Director M V Satish, according to an official release here.
Expressing interest in the construction of the township, Satish said that use of pre-cast concrete slab could complete the project early and to construct slabs, plants could be set up at two places.
Using fly ash from different power plants in Jharkhand would keep the environment clean and employment would also be generated in the slab construction plants, he added.
L&T is already working on pipe-line water scheme in Dhanbad and the company is also assisting in the construction of toilets under its CSR, the release added.
