A railway ticket examiner from Rajasthan, charged with sexually assaulting a woman there last year and who had been absconding since then, was arrested at Mayiladuthurai in this district today, police said.
They said Ramraj Meena (31) of Langra in Karauli district of Rajasthan had been charged with sexually assaulting a woman in the district in 2016, after which he went into hiding.
A few days back, Rajasthan police received information that he was hiding at Mayiladuthurai and got in touch with the Deputy Superintendent of Police of that town.
The DSP formed a special team to trace Ramraj Meena and nabbed him last night from a house near Mayiladuthurai railway junction area.
Meanwhile, a special police team from Kaurali district of Rajasthan arrived at Mayiladuthurai and arrested Ramraj Meena today and took him back to their state.
