'Batman' star Adam West loses life at 88 after battling with leukemia

1960s television series 'Batman' star Adam west lost life on Friday night at the age of 88 in Los Angeles.

The actor died after a brief treatment for leukemia told a representative to Variety.

“Our dad always saw himself as The Bright Knight, and aspired to make a positive impact on his fans’ lives. He was and always will be our hero,” his family said in a statement.

West worked as an actor until death. He did voice work for animated prjects that included Family Guy- in which he played himself and Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders.

In 1959, Mr West made his feature debut in  'The Young Philadelphians'. The film starred Paul Newman. Mr West got a universal recognition with his role in 'Batman'. The onscreen fight-scene graphics of Wham! and Pow! in Batman series were hit. 

West was born in the year 1928 in Walla Walla, Washington state.

He is survived by his wife, Marcelle, six children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
