As the date for roll out of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) nears, a number of organisations have lined up seminars and meeting in the city over the next few days to create awareness on the new tax regime.
On June 15, the Telangana State Federation of Chambers and Commerce & Trade (TSFCCT) will conduct an ‘Open House and Awareness Meet on GST’ in which Finance Minister Eatela Rajender and senior officials, including Principal Secretary, Revenue, Somesh Kumar, are scheduled to participate.
As many as 20 trading associations and over 500 traders from a range of sectors, including textiles, automobile spare parts, biscuits and confectionery, steel, timber, plastics would be participating, a release from the organisers said.
KPMG-FICCI session
On the same day, KPMG and industry body FICCI are jointly organising an interactive session, as part of a nationwide series, on GST at Hotel Vivanta by Taj.
ICFAI seminar
The ICFAI Group Hyderabad will be organising a two day seminar on ‘GST: A Way Forward’ at Hotel Taj Deccan in the city on June 17 and 18.
Briefing presspersons on Wednesday, dean of ICFAI Law School A.V.Narsimha Rao said the seminar would provide insights into the various provisions of GST Law, rules, regulations and procedures. The GST regime is scheduled to come into force on July 1.
