A Woman was allegedly molested by a driver of an app-based cab aggregator Ola in Bengaluru on late Friday night. Police have registered a case and launched a hunt to catch the suspect after the woman’s complaint.
In her complaint filed in Bommanahalli police station, the woman, who is a professional singer, alleged that cab driver went off the route shown on his Ola-approved mobile phone map after driving for a while and stopped at a deserted spot. The driver then turned around and groped her.
In her statement, the woman said that after the assault she managed to fought back and got off the car and run towards to a medical clinic nearby from where she called a friend but by that time the suspect has allegedly driven away.
Additional commissioner of police Hemanth Nimbalkar said the accused is on the run. “We have formed a special team to nab the culprit.”
Ola said in a statement that it had terminated the services of the driver after it received the complaint.
