England beat Australia by 40 runs (D/L method) in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 contest at Edgbaston on Saturday. Chasing the 278-run target, England were rocked early but recovered and later charged with Eoin Morgan-Ben Stokes stand. The England skipper fell short of ton but Stokes hit his first of the tournament. Rain arrived moments after Stokes’ celebration and England were well ahead on D/L at that stage.

But some fearless hitting and dropped catches from England have ensured that Australia manage to post a competitive total for them.
