The Indian two-wheeler market is finally seeing some long-overdue and much needed attention being given to safety of motorcycles and scooters, with companies incorporating features such as automatic headlamp on. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India introduced the Combi-brake technology on its scooters, and now rival company TVS Motor has added their own Sync Brake System (SBS) to all the variants of its Wego and Jupiter scooters.

First introduced in the Wego, the SBS works with a reaction relay lever to apply both, the front and the rear brake, in quick succession. This distributes the deceleration uniformly and ensures better braking control, according to the company.

This works by automatically activating the brake on the front wheel when the rear brake is applied. A ‘Multiplier’ is triggered, which transfers the input force to both wheels.

According to TVS, this braking system enhances brake efficiency and synchronised braking between both the wheels and is a low maintenance system.
