Senior BJP leader and MLA from Rajasthan Ghanshyam Tiwari on Wednesday lodged a police complaint against the party’s media cell for spreading defamatory messages about him.
Tiwari has accused the state BJP media cell of posting “objectionable” content about him on popular messaging platform WhatsApp.
Tiwari, who has earlier accused the Rajasthan BJP of having become a place for mafias and sycophants, claimed that he was attacked in a similar fashion four times earlier, too.
‘Propaganda against me’
“Messages and content have been posted on the WhatsApp group run by the state BJP’s media cell against me. Messages have been used as a propaganda against me and I seek action against those who are doing it,” he said.
Known for anti-party statements, Tiwari has lodged the complaint at the Jalupura police station and has urged the station house officer to take immediate action against the
perpetrators.
Tiwari has been criticising Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and the BJP leadership even after notices were served to him in May by the party’s national discipline committee.
The senior MLA has already announced that he will not accept the present state leadership, and has hinted at charting a different course.
