Green awards given away for maintaining ecological balance

Industries in the city articulated their plans for environmental protection by organising rallies, taking up plantation programmes, administering pledge among the employees and giving away green awards in recognition of contribution to maintaining ecological balance.

RINL CMD P. Madhusudan distributed green awards to employees for their outstanding contribution for preserving the environment in the plant. N.V. Bhaskar Rao, Joint Chief Environmental Engineer, AP Pollution Control Board was all praise for RINL for extensive green cover in and around the teel plant.

Green walk

NTPC Simhadri celebrated the day with a four-km long green walk which progressed through ‘jungle trail’ surrounded by the lush-green forest area in the township.

Mass tree plantation was carried out beside the Ring Road of phase-II of Deepanjalinagar. Group General Manager N.K. Sinha administered the environment pledge.

HPCL-Visakh Refinery conducted a free pollution under check camp for two wheelers at HP Classic Petrol Bunk, Malkapuram. MLA P.G.V.R. Naidu explained how emissions from vehicles could contribute to environmental pollution in cities.

Visakhapatnam Port Trust, Gangavaram Port, Dredging Corporation of India, Hindustan Shipyard, and Heavy Plate and Vessels Plant held separate programmes to mark the occasion.
