Saplings distributed to public

The Hindu celebrated the World Environment Day on Monday by distributing free seedlings to the public at the Indian Oil Corporation petroleum outlet near Pattoor. The function was inaugurated by P.P. Pramod, Conservator of Forests (Agasthyavanam Biological Park), by handing over a sapling to a couple, both employed at the Technopark, who drove in to fill fuel. The initiative was received well, with many arriving at the location seeking saplings of their choice. The event was organised in association with the State Social Forestry Division, who provided the seedlings as part of their urban forestry initiative.

IOC dealer Reghunath and his wife Lakshmi were also present at the event.
