An aged woman struggling to stand on her feet knocked at the doors of the district collectorate on Monday pleading for resumption of old age pension.
Seethal, a widow in her sixties, started receiving pension from the start of 2016, but the payment was stopped after seven months. The benefit has been denied for the last nine months.
The aged woman who needs two sticks to walk had reportedly conveyed her plight to officials many times in the past, but to no avail.
Last year, when hundreds of old age pensioners and the differently abled did not receive the benefit for months at a stretch, the officials implementing social security scheme had put forth field verification as the reason.
According to official sources, the issue has been resolved. Specific cases were being attended to as and when they were brought to notice, a senior official said.
