A man allegedly shot at a 20-year-old woman before shooting himself in Basedi police station area in Dholpur district, police said today.
While 26-year-old Devesh Sharma, a resident of Kallupura village, succumbed to his injuries, the woman was rushed for treatment to a government hospital in Dholpur, SHO Basedi Sitaram Meena said.
"Following the incident which took place yesterday, we have booked the family members of both the man and the woman after a complaint was lodged by them," he said.
The SHO said that according to preliminary investigation, the duo was in a relationship.
The body of the deceased has been handed over to his family members after post-mortem.
The cause behind the incident is yet to be ascertained and further investigation is on.
