BJP president Amit Shah has attributed the success attained by the party since 2014 to the unstinting commitment of party cadres at the booth-level.
Inaugurating a booth convention of the party at Rajaji Nagar here on Sunday, Mr. Shah said the party had witnessed an unprecedented rise with electoral victories in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, and Manipur. He said the vote share of the BJP had also increased tremendously in Kerala in the last polls.
“The party’s State unit has set the target of extending our activities to 80% of the booths in Kerala by 2018. It is important to strengthen each booth to realise our dream of a BJP government in the State. Moreover, with the people having placed their trust on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central government led by him, we are confident that the party will win the most number of seats from the State in the Lok Sabha elections of 2019,” he said.
Accusing the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government of promoting a cult of political violence, Mr. Shah said the peace-loving people of Kerala would no longer tolerate such tendencies. The BJP leader was accompanied by party State president Kummanam Rajasekharan and other leaders during the visit.
