Berlin: The members of Australian band The Living End say they are "safe and sound" and still plan to perform at Germany's Rock Am Ring music festival after the event was evacuated due to a "concrete terrorist threat".
Ninety-thousand people were packed into the festival site in the German town of Nuremberg for the first night of the three-day festival when German police asked attendees to clear the venue so that an investigation could take place.

Terror threat evacuates German festival goers
90,000 festival attendants evacuate the Rock am Ring music festival due to terrorist threat.
In a Facebook post on Saturday morning, the ARIA Award-winning trio apologised to fans, vowing the show would go on.
"Hi folks, no photos to post from our Rock am Ring performance, unfortunately," singer Chris Cheney, bassist Scott Owen and drummer Andy Strachan wrote.

"The festival site had to be evacuated this evening, right before we went on stage, due to a suspected terror threat. Everyone is safe and sound as investigations are being made.
"We are not sure when the festival site will be open again but it looks like the festival organisers plan for the show to go on tomorrow. Apologies to all our German friends that didn't get to see us play but we know you'll understand that it's better to be safe than sorry."
They also had a message for fans who missed their performance at Rock am Ring but were planning on attending their other German shows in Nuremberg and Vienna: "If you are still wearing your wristband from Rock am Ring we'll put you on the guest list," they posted.
The trio also called for peace. "Wir lieben dich. Friedensliebe und Freiheit," they wrote in German, which translates to "We love you. Peace and freedom."
The band will also head to Paris and Amsterdam as part of the European leg of their tour, before they head to the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
The evacuation comes just over a week after a suicide bombing during American pop star Ariana Grande's concert at the Manchester Arena killed 22 people.
The festival was set to be headlined by German metal giants Rammstein, along with fellow hometown heroes Die Toten Hosen and American rockers System of a Down.
The Living End were set to take to the stage just before 11pm German time for their set.

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, who on Tuesday donated the proceeds from his first-ever solo show in his home town of Manchester to victims following last week's attack, was also scheduled to perform.
