The Gurgaon police today said it has arrested two highway robbers on the charges of abducting an company manager from Subhash Chowk and withdrawing Rs two lakh from his ATM a fortnight ago.

Rahul Yadav and Jitendra Joshi were arrested last night from Iffco Chowk during vehicle checking.



They had abducted Sandarbh Kohli with his car on May 23 after his car broke down. The accused took him to Rajasthan's and released him there.

"Both the accused are graduate with Rahul also having a Bachelors of Education. They are into gambling and had huge debt to pay for which they hatched a plan to abduct someone," Deputy Commissioner of Police Deepak Saharan told PTI.

"They were roaming at IFFCO chowk and their activities looked suspicious after which officials detained them. On interrogating them, they broke down and confessed the crime.

"It is suspected that they could be involved in other abduction and robbery cases. We are interrogating them," Saharan said.

Police said Kohli was returning to his residence in Delhi when he was kidnapped by the accused at gunpoint.

Since, Kohli's mobile phone, which was registered with the bank, was left at home his family members got message alerts of huge withdrawal.

After which they approached police the next morning.
