Chief Minister today launched a scheme, named 'KCR kits', for benefit of poor pregnant women.

He launched the scheme at the maternity hospital at Petlaburz here in the presence of Union Minister and others.



Under the scheme, the would provide a financial assistance of Rs 15,000 to women who give birth to female child and Rs 14,000 for male child.

A kit comprising baby soaps, baby oil, two dresses, towels, mosquito net and two sarees for the mother would be given, according to a state release.

The scheme is aimed at helping poor women who are forced to work to make a decent living even during pregnancy and lead to a 'healthy Telangana', the release added.
