South Africa are the one of the favourites to win the ICC Champions Trophy. They began their campaign against Sri Lanka at The Oval. Invited to bat first, South Africa ran on Hashim Amla’s 25th ODI century and some fine hitting in the end by JP Duminy to post 299 for 6. The Proteas would have liked a few more after Amla’s stand with Faf du Plessis, who scored 75, gave them a good platform. But Sri Lanka picked three quick wickets to contain them below 300.
