Vivid lights boost business

Architecture practice Turner has created two exciting installations in Sydney's CBD for the Vivid Sydney event. The innovative installations will be located at Campbell's Cove and Bulletin Place during Vivid Sydney, which runs until June 17. The two installations were selected by Vivid Sydney and are the result of an internal competition among Turner's 110 staff. The installations, called Ethereal Columns and Supernova, were created by a core team of 10 staff, with a further 50 people involved in their fabrication. The team collected recycled umbrellas to create Supernova at Bulletin Place.

Loftus Lane

AMP Capital have been inundated with potential buyers for the new Loftus Lane apartments. With CBRE's Justin Brown, AMP Capital's chief operating officer, real estate, Louise Mason, launched the sales process, in conjunction with a Vivid installation in Loftus Lane, known as Tidal. It is a nod to the activation and pedestrianisation of Loftus Lane that will happen as part of the $1 billion AMP Capital Quay Quarter Sydney.

Curators of the Tidal installation were Peter Thompson and Tim Carr from ARUP. AMP Capital's Loftus Lane comprises 106 apartments in three luxury low-rise buildings. As part of the project, the heritage-listed 1860s wool store building Hinchcliff House will be transformed into a three-storey shopping and dining venue. A network of laneways with more restaurants and retail options will be expanded and opened to pedestrians.
