FINAL SCORE: GEEL 13.18.96 ADEL 10.14.74

Game over, misery over for the Crows. They were woeful tonight but that's taking nothing away from the Cats who were sumptuous.

They were led by virtuoso performances by Dangerfield and Selwood, the result never in doubt. They go into next week's bye full of confidence after three very strong wins at Simonds Stadium in a row.

For the Crows, they play St Kilda at the Adelaide Oval next week and you would expect them to bounce back. Absolute shadows of their usual selves tonight.

Q4 GEEL 95 ADL 74

Jenkins converts a set shot. Adelaide flattered by the 21 point margin to be fair.

Geelong now equal on points with GWS in second and Adelaide in first.

With two minutes to go ...

Dangerfield has 29 touches, 3 three goals and six tackles. Joel Selwood has 34 touches, four tackles and a goal.

A special performance from these two tonight. Formidable.

Big crowd at the Cattery ...

The majority of this 30,468 will be going home happy tonight.

Taylor Walker has just kicked his third but Geelong 12.16.94 remain well on top of Adelaide 9.14.68.

These Crows have been unrecognizable ...

Remarkable how bad they have been and how far away from the team that beat Brisbane by 80 points and Freo by 100 points in the last two weeks. Betts and Sloane in particular have failed to fire.

In the meantime, they've just kicked a goal, the Crows, through Andy Otten.

Q4 GEEL 91 ADL 51

Goal. Menzel opens proceedings in the final term. He has three goals now.

The final term is underway ...

How bad will this get for the Crows?

Hawkins in MRP trouble?

Ladder-leaders pulled apart ...

That was the Cats' most dominant quarter of the game and has all but sealed this match in their favour.

Adelaide had absolutely no momentum, kicking only two goals, through their skipper Walker and Betts.

It's been all Dangerfield and Selwood. The former has 23 touches and three goals and the latter has 30 touches and one goal.

But they've been well supported by a host of Cats including Mackie, Zach Tuohy, Motlop and Taylor.

For the Crows there has been too few contributing. Matt Crouch has 25 touches and his brother Brad is the next best on 19. Walker, two goals and three behinds, has tried hard to lead from the front in the forward line.

Three-quarter-time ...

It's Geelong 12.13.85, all over the ladder-leading Adelaide Crows 7.9.51.

Q3 GEEL 85 ADL 51

Goal. Betts is on the board. He snaps, nothing spectacular, and the Crows have two for the term.

Q3 GEEL 85 ADL 44

Goal. Taylor Walker kicks one from 50, basically on the boundary and the Crows have their first goal for the quarter. Tex 2.3 for the game.

Q3 GEEL 85 ADL 38

James Parsons converts a set shot to stretch the Geelong lead. This quarter has been all Cats, both in score and territory.

Q3 GEEL 78 ADL 38

Goal. Dangerfield. He has three goals and three behinds to go with his 20 disposals. It could get ugly if the Crows don't wake up.

Geelong are on in a big way this term ...

... some of their play has been irresistible. Again they go coast-to-coast but Dangerfield can only manage a point after he took on three Crows inside 50. Adelaide are missing chances but Geelong are being allowed too much time and space,

Exactly what I was thinking ...

Q3 GEEL 70 ADL 37

Goal. A beautiful coast-to-coast one at that, finished off by Menzel, who like a striker arrived at the perfect time to soccer home Taylor's slightly wayward pass.

Wardrobe change ...

Geelong's Cam Guthrie has put on a long sleeve jumper for the second half. It is chilly tonight down in Sleepy Hollow.

Q3 underway ...

Scott Selwood right next to Sloane again. They split a little toward the second part of that second quarter...

Joel's been brilliant ...

23 touches, one goal, two marks and two times being taken out hard in a marking contest for Joel Selwood. A fantastic half of football by him.

Dangerfield has been similarly dangerous with two goals and two behinds to go with his 17 touches.

Mackie and Motlop have been handy with 16 and 12 touches each.

For the Crows Sloane has only had 10 touches, low for his standards. Matt Crouch has led the way with 20 touches and the next best is Richard Douglas on 11.

Lynch has two goal for the Crows while Danger, Hawkins and Taylor have two.

Inside 50s have evened up at 25 apiece but disposals are lopsided at 217 to Geelong and 155 to the Crows. It's 88 to 63 in contested possessions, Geelong's way.
