Good morning, it's the end of the working week and the weather gods are treating us more than fairly (see proper definition of "fair" below).
It's another single-digit start - and a chilly challenge to every single digit if you're on the bike this morning - but then it's thawing out to become a mostly sunny winter stunner with light winds.

Out Buninyong way, we're told the morning centigrades are in the negatives, and that it officially "feels like" -3.1. Makes Melbourne feel positively toasty?
The weekend in Melbourne promises more of the same with crisp, dry mornings and gilt-edged afternoons.
The only rain in sight at this stage looks to be for Monday morning. But no need to think about that now.
Have yourself a wonderful week's end, make the most of winter's fair work, and fare well ...

Weird weather word of the day: Fair
What's weird about the weathery word "fair" is how often it's treated unfairly. Though often bandied about in regards to any kind of not-terrible weather, what it really should imply is no precipitation, less than half sky cover of low cloud, no other extreme conditions of visibility, and light winds of generally less than 10 knots. Seem fair?
