Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today inaugurated improved passenger amenities at various stations in Karwar region.
"Konkan Railway has initiated an action plan to improve passenger amenities in the stations of Karwar region and railway minister Suresh Prabhu today inaugurated several such improved passenger amenities at Karwar station," said a release issued by the Konkan Railway.
The improvement facilities include improved surface on platform, renovation of toilets, provision of digital GPS platform clock and auto floor cleaning machine, it said.
The inauguration took place in a function held at Karwar today, said the release.
As many as 235 benches have been provided at various stations over Karwar region, said the release.
He also initiated the work of passenger amenities at Karwar station including provision of drinking water facility and approach road among others, said the statement.
