We’re seeing quite a few Apple iPhone 8 leaks every single day. Apple’s tenth anniversary smartphone is expected to come with a radical redesign, and that includes edge-to-edge display leaving no room for Touch ID. Most rumours say TouchID will be integrated underneath the display itself, which means an infrared sensor will read the fingerprint. The two interesting leaks for the iPhone 8 include new schematics from SlashLeaks, and alleged render images comparing the size of iPhone 8 against Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ from iDrop News.
About the comparison renders of iPhone 8 and Galaxy S8, iDrop News notes these are based on anonymous “factory workers with intimate knowledge”. Twitter user Benjamin Geskin has put out both these leaks. His renders comparing the iPhone 8 against the new generation of Samsung Galaxy S8 phones have been shared by iDrop News.
According to the report, iPhone 8 will have a 5.8-inch OLED iPhone with the following dimensions: 143.59 x 70.94 x 7.57 mm. It stands against the two Galaxy smartphones, but it still appears smaller than the two phones, thanks to the edge-to-edge display. Even Samsung’s current Galaxy S8+ with its 6.2-inch display is similar in dimensions to the current Apple iPhone 7 Plus, which has a much smaller 5.5-inch display.
iDrop also posted an image of the iPhone 8 comparing it to Apple’s existing iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and you can see that even though the screen size is now 5.8-inches, the new iPhone is smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus. It will be interesting to see how the final iPhone 8 looks, and how easy it will be to use for customers, given the bump in display.

Additionally the leaked schematics via SlashLeaks reveal the front and back design of the iPhone 8. As seen from the images, the front of iPhone 8 will be an edge-to-edge display design without the signature iPhone home button, something similar to Samsung Galaxy S8. Apple iPhone 8 will likely have flat display, and not the dual-curved edge one we’ve seen on Samsung’s Galaxy S8 series.
The back, according to schematic, will feature a vertical dual camera setup. It also shows a tiny circular area, which is claimed to be the space for the Apple logo, and not fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor will likely be integrated underneath the display at the front, according to the report. Last week, the Economic Daily News (EDN) report noted Apple apparently has overcome the hurdle of Touch ID placement on iPhone 8’s display.
Apple iPhone 8 is expected to launch in September, this year. Apple’s developer conference WWDC 2017 starts on Tuesday, where the company is expected to announced a new speaker with Siri and new range of MacBooks as well.
