Vehicular traffic was today paralysed for nearly two hours on Coonoor-Mettupalayam road, as trees and boulders fell on the section following a landslip near Kallar here.

The area experienced good rains last night, resulting in formation of loose soil around Burliar and landslip occurred some 15 minutes after the Nilgiris Mountain Rail train passed a bridge, police said.

The trees and boulders were removed with the help of earthmovers, which took nearly two hours and road was cleared around 12.30 PM, they said.
