The coastal districts in might receive heavy rainfall along with strong winds for the next 24 hours due to the presence of cyclonic storm 'Mora' in the Bay of Bengal, the office said on Monday.

The storm, presently situated approximately 500 km southeast of coastline and around 330 km southwest of Chittagong in Bangladesh, is expected to hit the neighbouring country by Tuesday afternoon, a weather official said.

"Some coastal districts of including North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas and Nadia would see heavy rainfall as the storm passes by. However, it would not have any long lasting affect on the state's weather," he said.
