An elderly woman from Tamil Nadu, who was on a pilgrimage to the cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi, passed away after falling unconscious in the Katra belt of Reasi district here, police said today.
T Chandra (67), a resident of Tamil Nadu, fell unconscious at Banganga in the Katra area yesterday, a police officer said.
The woman, who was accompanied by her family members, had had a 'darshan' of the deity before falling unconscious.
The relatives of the woman rushed her to a dispensary, where the doctors declared her brought dead, the officer said, adding that the body was handed over to her kin today after the completion of the legal and medical formalities.
