A Brisbane priest has been charged over a historic sexual assault.
In a statement, the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane said the priest notified them of the charge, relating to an alleged offence in the 1990s and withdrew from active ministry.
The Archdiocese said he will face court later this month.
