Canberra golfer Brendan Jones has fallen four shots short of earning a spot in this year's Open Championship.
He shot a final-round two-over to finish tied for 16th - four shots off finishing in the top four - at the Mizuno Open on Sunday.

There were four spots up for grabs at this year's Open at Royal Birkdale in July.
The Mizuno, also known as the Gateway to the Open, was won by Chan Kim, who finished 15-under and five shots clear of his nearest rival.
Jones has won the Mizuno twice and made four appearances at the Open over the years.
