You can now pose queries on Goods and Services Tax (GST) directly with Government officials through a digital channel.
The Centre has come up with a novel initiative to get people's queries on proposed goods and service tax (GST) system addressed in a timely manner.
A new twitter account--@askGST_GOI has been opened for this purpose.
"To reply to queries on GST, a new twitter account is opened. My officers will give replies asap @askGST_GOI. Please send queries there now", Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia tweeted.
This move is significant as the Centre and the States are working towards GST introduction from July 1 this year.
Although only sixty days are left for this historic tax reform to become a reality in India, the awareness levels are still low among the small businesses.
The GST rates have already been frozen by the GST Council. As of mid May, nearly half the 29 States in the country have passed their SGST laws.
