May condemns 'callous terrorist attack'

British Prime Minister Theresa May has branded the bombing in Manchester one of the worst terrorist incidents their country has suffered.

Military personnel also may be deployed at public events, she said.

Ms May issued her statement after the second emergency Cobra meeting of the day, following Monday night's attack in Manchester.

In that statement, she confirmed that the bomber was a 22-year-old man born and raised in the UK.

Ms May said "we cannot ignore that there is a wider group of individuals linked to Manchester attack".
