Mumbai, May 26:
In pre-close trade, the rupee was trading 17 paise higher at 64.45 against Thursday's close of 64.62 against the dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchange today.
The domestic currency had gained 11 paise yesterday.

Forex dealers said that apart from weakness in the dollar against some currencies overseas, increased foreign fund inflows and a higher domestic equity market, which zoomed to new highs, supported the rupee.
