Surana Solar Limited has been listed the lowest bidder for the rooftop installation of 5 MW solar power generating units under the Kakinada Smart City Project in Andhra Pradesh.
“In the bid invited by Kakinada Smart City Corporation Limited under the Resco (Renewable Energy Service Company) for setting up of 5 MW solar photovoltaic rooftop systems, we have been listed the lowest,” Narendra Surana, Managing Director of Surana Solar told BusinessLine.
“Once the contract is handed over, we will be able to implement it within six months,” he said.
Under the Resco model, the successful bidder has to take up site survey, investigation, design, engineer, supply, install, commission and maintain the grid connected rooftop solar system on net metering basis.
The company will supply power to Kakinada Corporation at Rs 5.25 per unit. The overall cost of the project will work out to about Rs 5 crore per mw, he said.
Referring to about 500 mw of solar rooftop projects tendered by SECI across many cities in the country, Surana said the company has bid for 20 mw capacity in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In the technical evaluation 189 companies have been listed.
Surana said the company had also received an order from Tejas India Solar Energy for supply of solar modules for 3 mw solar power plant located at Kodakandla village in Gajwel mandal of Medak district of Telangana. The order value is Rs 14 crore.
