CESC saw the highest ever power demand so far this season on Tuesday, at 3:30 pm, with the power-utility supplying 2113 MW. A day earlier, on May 22, it had supplied 2106 MW of power. The peak demand that CESC witnessed in the previous season was 2,059 MW on April 27, last year. “Over the last three years, CESC has been experiencing peak demand of more than 2,000 MW during summer; and there has been a growth of 3.5 per cent in the previous two years,” a CESC spokesperson said in a press release.
