Press Trust of India  |  Chandigarh

Health Minister Anil Vij today said the state has adopted the public-private partnership (PPP) mode to provide cardiology services at the Ambala Civil Hospital.

The health department has signed an agreement with Meditrina to provide the heath service at the civil hospital, an official release quoting Vij said.

"The cost of drug elusive stent is included in the model angioplasty package and would cost 50 per cent less, about Rs 50,000, under the Central Health Scheme after the service is launched," the minister said.

Cardiac surgeries would be provided after the catheterisation laboratory is set up, he said.

The agreement was signed by Civil Surgeon Dr Vinod Gupta on behalf of the health department and by Managing Director Meditrina Dr Pratap Singh.
