Three members of an inter-state gang of smugglers have been arrested by Uttarakhand police from Haryana and 1.6 kg of gold jewellery, worth Rs 45 lakh, recovered from their possession, police said here today.
Gurdeep Singh and Sahab Singh from Haryana, and Gurjant Singh from Punjab, were arrested yesterday from Kurukshetra.
"They were arrested after their mobiles phones, that were put under surveillance, were traced to Haryana," Dehradun SSP Nivedita Kukreti Kumar said.
"They had been on the run for over a month after duping a city-based jeweller," she said.
