Chain snatcher held, booty seized

The Upparpet police have arrested a suspected chain snatcher and seized gold chains worth Rs 17 lakh. The suspect, Babu H K alias Pulsar Babu (36), is a resident of Honnanayakanahalli in Ramanagaram taluk.

He used to ride a bike, frequently changing its number plate, while snatching chains. He had robbed women in Vijayanagar, Rajarajeshwarinagar, Basaveshwaranagar, Cottonpet, Jnanabharathi, JP Nagar, Puttenahalli, Chandra Layout, Konanakunte and Girinagar areas, said the police.

On a tip-off, the police raided a building in Gottigere on Bannerghatta Road and arrested him. He confessed to the crime during questioning, added the police.
