Six persons have been arrested for allegedly beating and subsequently stabbing to death a 27- year-old man, following a clash between two groups over a land dispute, in Loharwa village of Rajasthan's Barmer district.
The incident had taken place on May 13, but the matter hogged the limelight after a purported video of the beating and stabbing Narpat Singh went viral on social media.
In the video, nearly a dozen men from both the groups are seen thrashing each other with sticks.
The arrested persons include Chaina Ram, Hira Ram, Teja Ram, Ganga Devi, Bharmal Ram and Sona Ram.
They were booked under sections 302, 307, 323 and 341 of IPC, and were produced before a court, SHO Dhorimana Suresh Saharan said.
He said the people from both sides had sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The accused had fled the spot after lynching the man. However, they were later arrested.
The victim's family members had lodged a complaint against eight persons, but the investigation found involvement of only six among them, the SHO said.
