2 booked in naval cadet's death case

The police have registered a case against two cadets at the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala in connection with the death of the 26-year-old cadet Gudeppa Sooraj.

Payyanur Circle Inspector Azad Maruthapuzhayil told DH on Saturday that a case was registered under Section 306 of the IPC (abetment of suicide) based on a suicide note. “The note mentioned that Sooraj was subjected to harassment by the two cadets,” the inspector said. Sooraj, a first year Indian Naval Academy Course student from Malappuram district had died on Thursday.
