Tata Steel, PNB and ICICI Bank among most active stocks on D-St

Shares of JSW Steel (0.94 crore) were among the most active stocks in terms of volume on NSE in early trade on Thursday around 10.30 am (IST). It was followed by Apollo Hospital (0.74 crore), Tata Steel (0.65 crore), Bank of Baroda (0.63 crore), ICICI Bank (0.53 crore), PNB (0.49 crore), SBI (0.41 crore), DLF (0.31 crore), Ashok Leyland (0.30 crore), Idea Cellular (0.25 crore), Axis Bank (0.25 crore), SAIL (0.24 crore), Tata Motors (0.17 crore), YES Bank (0.17 crore), Bharti Airtel (0.14 crore) and Hind. Unilever (0.13 crore).

Benchmark NSE Nifty index was trading 73.4 points down at 9,452 at 10.30 hours on account of sluggish trend in overseas markets. The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 184 points at 30,474 around the same time.

In the Nifty50 index, TCS (up 1.29 per cent), Wipro (up 1.16 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 0.73 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 0.63 per cent) were among top gainers.

On the other hand, Hindalco Industries (down 3.02 per cent), YES Bank (down 2.52 per cent), UltraTech Cement. (down 2.06 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 1.94 per cent) and Ambuja Cements (down 1.76 per cent) were trading in the red.
