Cooperative sugar mills in Haryana have produced over 35.22 lakh quintals of the sweetener by crushing 360.09 lakh quintals of cane during the current season so far.
The mills had produced over 29.16 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 294.27 lakh quintals of sugarcane during the corresponding period of last year, a spokesman of Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar said.
The cooperative sugar mill at Shahabad produced a maximum of over 6.97 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 66.69 lakh quintals of cane.
Rohtak mill produced over 4.41 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 47.93 lakh quintals of cane, followed by Meham mill which produced over 3.69 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 40.40 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
Average rate of sugar recovery by the cooperative mills has been registered as 9.93 per cent, the spokesman man said.
