Mumbai: Amid stock specific activity, the market remains flat a little past noon. A lack of triggers from the global front and profit taking after recent upmove limit market's gains.
The Sensex is up slightly at 30,583.75 and the Nifty50 of the National Stock Exchange is down 7.15 points at 9505.10.
Tata Steel is up more than 8% on strong results. Indiabulls Housing Finance is gaining 2.7% and ICICI Bank is up 1.5%. Mahindra & Mahindra, Hero Motocorp, Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel, Hindalco, Larsen & Toubro and Asian Paints are up 0.6% - 1%.
Tech Mahindra is declining 2.5%. Bosch, Yes Bank, Adani Ports, ACC, Ambuja Cements, Wipro and Kotak Mahindra Bank are down 1% - 1.2%.
Amrit Corp Limited shares are up sharply today, extending previous session's strong gains thanks to impressive fourth quarter results. The stock, which vaulted to a new high of Rs 862 on BSE, is currently at Rs 818, up nearly 11% from Tuesday's closing price. On BSE, the Amrit Corp counter has clocked a volume of over 2740 shares so far in the session, as compared to average daily volume of just around 700 shares.
Astra Microwave Products is gaining 2.5% on strong results. The company reported a net profit of Rs 30.26 crore for the quarter ended March 2017, as compared to Rs 12.76 crore in the preceding quarter and Rs 19.11 crore in the January - March 2016 quarter.
