Hyderabad International Airport Ltd has converted the entire Taxiway Edge Lights from halogen lamps to energy efficient LEDs.

Of the 26,000 conventional lamps, the airport has managed to convert more than 19,500 have been converted into LED, saving 2.2 Million Units of electricity per annum, it informed in s statement.

The airport is on its green journey of transforming itself into a 100 per cent LED Airport, out which 75 per cent of the work has been already completed.

The airport currently caters to more than 15 Million Passengers Per Annum with close to 400 daily air traffic movements, requires consistent supply of electricity to operate round the clock.

It had commissioned a captive 5MW solar power plant for its captive use.
