China's meteorological authority today warned of high temperatures in the country's northern region in the next three days.
The National Meteorological Centre (NMC) has forecast that a heatwave will sweep across Beijing and Tianjin cities.
Hebei, Henan and Shandong provinces will also be affected by the heatwave in the next three days.
These areas will see temperature rise up to 37 degrees Celsius, according to the authority.
The NMC advised people in the affected regions to take precautions against heat stroke and fire.
A cold front starting from Saturday is expected to disperse the heatwave and lower temperatures, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
