Gunfire was heard today in the Ivory Coast cities of Abidjan and Bouake, in the grip of a mutiny by ex-rebel soldiers, AFP journalists and witnesses said.
In the economic capital of Abidjan, shots were heard from two military camps in the east of the city, a nearby resident said. Frequent gunshots were also heard in the country's second city of Bouake, where one person died from bullet wounds on Sunday.
