Thick fog delays flights, cancels CityCat service

18 reading now

A thick fog covered Brisbane on Monday morning, causing delays at the airport and interrupting morning commutes.

Brisbane residents woke to a thick blanket of fog that had settled over the city in the early hours of the morning.

The 6.19am CityCat service from UQ to Northshore Hamilton was cancelled due to fog as many early morning motorists faced delays heading into work.

Flights at Brisbane airport were delayed due to limited visibility from the fog, which began to clear by about 7am.

The morning fog was expected clear to a sunny day in Brisbane, with a maximum temperature of 26 degrees and a 5 per cent chance of rain.
