As the information technology (IT) sector stares at job losses, Rahul Gandhi on Saturday took on the Modi government for its lack of vision to address the problems faced by the youth. “Between promises and performance lies capability and commitment,” Rahul said on Twitter and tagged reports of Indian IT firms planning 56,000 job cuts this year.

“Sad to see our youth let down by this government’s lack of vision,” he said. The Congress’ digital team has built up a social media campaign targetting the Modi government’s failure to create jobs by putting out infographics

on job losses in the last three years. “Single biggest worry today ought to be lay-offs & jobless growth. Future of millions at stake unless the government wakes up and makes this priority,” said Sachin Pilot, Rajasthan Congress president. Former Union minister Shashi Tharoor shared his interactions with workers in the IT sector.
