A one-hour delay in starting the official celebration of Rabindranath Tagore's 156th birth anniversary here today left Meghalaya Arts and Culture Minister Ronnie V Lyngdoh fuming.
Ronnie, the chief guest at the function, arrived at the venue five minutes before the stipulated time of 3:30 PM and left the hall angrily after a wait of about 20 minutes for preparation of the hall.
The programme finally started at 4:45 PM, after a delay of one hour and 15 minutes, with an official of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) becoming the new chief guest.

Ronnie directed her to take action against the erring officials.
The minister told reporters that he asked the director to act against the officials for the delay in starting such an important public function.
