Indian mobile wallet major MobiKwik on Monday announced its association with Plus, part of Smart City initiative as a step towards the national Smart Cities Mission.

The tie-up will enable residents of in paying taxes and bills for utility services such as electricity and water, digitally. Plus also provides a platform to apply for birth and death certificates, marriage registration and register complaints on civic amenities.

"This association is another in line with our vision to support and the government's Smart Cities initiative," said Head MobiKwik, Bikram Bir Singh.

The partnership will allow people to pay for various services available at Plus app and portal within seconds. MobiKwik understands that getting the bill paying user to pay online requires a behavioral shift, hence MobiKwik and Plus together would be incentivizing users to do online transactions, which would further give impetus to campaign," added Bikram.
