Scorching weather condition continued to affect normal life in parts of Rajasthan today where the mercury soared to settle at 47 degrees Celsius in Churu.
Heat wave swept western parts of the state where Sriganganagar and Bikaner recorded a maximum temperature of 46.5 degrees and 46 degrees respectively, while Jaisalmer, Barmer and Kota registered the day temperature of 45.5 degrees, 45.2 degrees and 45.1 degrees Celsius.
Pilani, Ajmer and Jaipur recorded the maximum temperature of 44.2 degrees, 44 degrees and 43.6 degrees Celsius respectively, the Met department said here.
Meanwhile, light rains occurred at isolated places in eastern parts of the state.
"Ajmer recorded 1.4 mm rainfall, while Jaipur and Pilani received traces of rain till evening today," the MeT said.
The weather condition in the state would remain the same during the next 24 hours, it added.
