A 22-year-old man from has been arrested near herE for allegedly cheating in a postal department examination, police said today. Gulbanth, a native of Gorar village in Sonipat district, wrote the examination for the post of 'Mail Guard', held yesterday at Vidya Nagar, police said.

The invigilator who grew suspicious checked him and found a mobile phone, which was barred inside the exam hall, in his possession.



On checking the mobile, the invigilator found messages containing answers for the 25 regional language (Malayalam) questions and seized the phone, Sub-Inspector Raveendran said. Gulbanth was immediately handed over to police. The youth was arrested yesterday and produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate here today which remanded him to 14 days judicial custody, he said.

A search is on for the person who had sent the answers over phone to Gulbanth, he added.
