Woman seriously injured after exiting moving taxi on Gold Coast

A woman has been left with serious injuries after exiting a moving maxi taxi on the Gold Coast on Monday morning.

A maxi taxi was travelling along Scarborough Street in Southport when the female passenger, aged in her 30s, in the back of the vehicle opened the sliding door and fell out.

Ambulance paramedics treated the woman at the scene, and later took her to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

She suffered head injuries.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations were continuing.
